Man accused of molesting girl
A 64-year-old man was arrested on an accusation that he sexually molested a 9-year-old girl in barangay Jagobiao, Mandaue City.
Romeo Solayao was later released from jail after he posted bail for P180,000.
The man denied the allegations against him. He said his house was open to children who wanted to watch television.
He said the accusation was impossible since there were boarders in his house making it easy to detect any commotion.
Solayao instead accused the girl’s parents of goading her. He said the parents owed P300 from him and that they just wanted to extract money from him since he has a daughter married to an Australian national.
The victim told police that she was with friends in Solayao’s house when the suspect asked him to go to his room.
The girl said the man took off her underwear and started molesting her. The girl said she was later given P5.
