Gunman killed after he wounds village execs, clashes with cops
LEGAZPI CITY—A still unidentified man was killed by police on Monday (Sept. 2) after he and another assailant shot and wounded a village chief and another official in the town of Placer, Masbate province.
Maj. Maria Lusia Calubaquib, Bicol regional police spokesperson, said wounded in the attack by the slain gunman was Antonio Jose Aum, 50, chief of San Marcos village and Graciano Condrillon, 45, chief watchman of the same village.
Calubaquib said the village officials were at a store around 6 p.m. when two armed men arrived and opened fire.
The assailants shot it out with policemen, according to Calubaquib, in a gunfight that killed one of the assailants while the other fled.
