14 nurses hurt in Bakilid road accident

FOURTEEN nursing graduates who recently took the licensure examinations were injured after the multicab they were riding on flipped when the driver tried to evade a road barrier yesterday dawn.

The graduates came from a party to celebrate the success of their board examinations. While traveling along AS Fortuna Street, barangay Bakilid, Mandaue City, the driver, Kristoffer Bryne Paculaba, evaded a plastic barrier used to cover a manhole of a telephone company.

SPO4 Eleazar Saromines, traffic investigator, said the multicab swerved to the right and occupied the outer lane. When Palacuba maneuvered to go back to the inner lane, the multicab flipped injuring the 21-year-old Paculaba and his passengers.

The police added the plastic barrier had no light reflector and the area was also dark.

Injured were Rachel Mortalla, 21; Elvin Jhon Kiseo, 20; Clifford Bayson, 22; Laarni Antor, 24; Marilyn Gadiane, 22; Dally Love Adolfo, 21; Kinneth Grado, 21; Adrienne Tabliga, 20; Nelson Mabanto, 25; Christopher James Pabon, 21; Philip Chena, 23; John Micheal Galeos, 22; and Argie Roble, 24.

Saromines said the group had a driver but he was drunk so Paculaba took over.
