PH weather seen to improve but Pagasa monitoring cloud clusters

MANILA, Philippines – The weather in the Philippines will generally improve as no major weather disturbance is seen to affect local weather, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said on Thursday afternoon.
Pagasa’s Weather Specialist Raymond Ordinario said that although they are expecting generally fair weather, they will still be monitoring cloud clusters over the eastern side of the country.
“We’re still monitoring o may nakikitaan pa rin tayo na mga kumpol ng kaulapan o cloud clusters dito sa silanganang bahagi nga ng Luzon, sa loob ng Philippine area of responsibility, ganun din sa isang kumpol ng kaulapan sa labas naman,” Ordinario said.
“Binabantayan natin ang mga cloud clusters dahil posible pa ring nga itong maging mga bagyo sa susunod na mga araw. Pero within the next 48 hours, typhoon free o tropical cyclone free pa rin ang ating bansa, bahagya ngang magkakaroon ng improvement sa magiging lagay ng ating panahon,” he added.
Pagasa also noted that several areas, especially those on the western seaboards, would still experience rain showers due to the southwest monsoon or Habagat.
“Halos maganda na ang lagay ng panahon dito sa buong kapuluan, maliban lamang sa epekto nga ng Habagat dito pa rin sa kanlurang bahagi ng Luzon,” Ordinario explained.
Residents in the Ilocos Region, which was one of the areas most-affected by the recent rains brought by Typhoon “Ineng” and “Jenny,” were warned that even a small amount of rain can bring flood again as most of the landmass are still wet.
“Dito sa Luzon area, generally fair weather na […] maliban na lamang dito sa Zambales area. Bigyan natin ng diin ‘yan na sa mga kababayan natin sa Ilocos Norte, na konting pag-ulan lamang ay pwede pa rin kayo magkaroon ng pagbaha dahil saturated pa rin o basa pa ang inyong mga lupa,” Ordinario added.
