Makati cops test negative for drug use – police chief

MANILA, Philippines – Makati City police station on Wednesday said all of its personnel are cleared of illegal drugs after all of its members tested negative for drug use.

“We [Makati police] have undergone drug testing, mandatory po iyon. We are proud to say all Makati police personnel, non-personnel, civilian, wala pong nag-positive,” Makati police chief Col. Rogelio Simon said in a statement as read by Lt. Agnes Bueno of Makati police’s Station Community Affairs Development during the drug-free workplace program in Dusit Thani Hotel.

Simon said their police station has been applying to be declared as a drug-free workplace since February.

Simon added that they “want to be the first police station in the Philippines to be declared as a drug-free workplace.”

In a text message to INQUIRER.net, Simon confirmed that all 664 police officers and personnel in Makati City police station tested negative for drugs.
