MANILA, Philippines — Severe Tropical Storm “Ineng” left the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) on Saturday evening after having made landfall earlier in Taiwan, the state weather bureau said.
“At 6:00 PM today, the center of Severe Tropical Storm #InengPH(BAILU) has exited the Philippine Area of Responsibility,” Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said in a Facebook post.
Ineng was last spotted at 275 kilometers north northwest of Basco, Batanes, moving west-northwest at 20 kilometers per hour. The severe tropical storm has maximum sustained winds of up to 100 kph and a gustiness of up to 125 kph.
Ineng caused heavy rainfall over areas in Luzon, especially in Ilocos Norte where two boys were injured and a girl died in a landslide in Barangay Surong, Pasuquin.

In its 5 p.m. weather bulletin, Pagasa said it is currently monitoring a low-pressure area (LPA) which would likely become a tropical depression and is expected to enter PAR by Monday.
The LPA was last spotted outside of PAR at 1,790 kilometers east of Mindanao.
Earlier at 2 p.m., Ineng made landfall in Pingtung County in southern Taiwan.
