Village official hurt in Camarines Sur shooting

LEGAZPI CITY — A village councilman was wounded after he was shot by a son of a village chief in Tinambac town, Camarines Sur on Wednesday afternoon.

Major Maria Luisa Calubaquib, spokesperson of the Bicol police, identified the victim as Edgar Nepas, barangay kagawad of San Vicente.

The attacker, Adrin Tuy, armed with a still unknown handgun, barged into a nipa hut, where Nepas was, and shot him at close range in the said village at around 4 p.m.

The victim was rushed to the Bicol Medical Center (BMC) where he was treated for a gunshot wound on his stomach.

Tuy, accompanied by his mother Gemma Tuy, village chief of San Vicente, surrendered to police authorities. /je
