2 suspected drug pushers fall in Lucena drug stings

LUCENA CITY –– Anti-illegal drugs operatives arrested two notorious “shabu” (crystal meth) peddlers in separate buy-bust operations here Friday and Thursday.

Nirvann Eclavea, 22, was collared after he sold shabu to a police agent inside a subdivision in Barangay Ibabang Iyam around 12:30 a.m. Friday, Quezon police director Colonel Audie Madrideo said in a report.

Eclavea yielded four sachets of shabu weighing 6.6 grams worth P36,300.

Anti-illegal drugs operatives also arrested Arnold Pontiveros, 49, in another drug sting operation in Barangay Ilayang Dupay around 4:30 p.m. Thursday.

Authorities seized four sachets of shabu weighing 14.38 grams worth P79,090.

Police said Pontiveros was a former drug convict and was released in 2012 after serving his sentence.

Authorities tagged the two suspects as well-known suppliers of shabu to drug users in their respective villages. Delfin T. Mallari Jr./lzb
