MANILA, Philippines — The national and local government joined forces on Friday morning to clear roads of various obstructions in Quezon City (QC).
Personnel of the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA), Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG), QC government, and the Philippine National Police (PNP) went hand in hand in clearing roads along E. Rodriguez Avenue in Brgy. Damayang Lagi.
Interior Secretary Eduardo Año, MMDA Chairman Danilo Lim and General Manager Jojo Garcia, QC Mayor Joy Belmonte, QC Police District Director Brig. Gen. Joel Esquivel and National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) chief Maj. Gen. Guillermo Eleazar led the clearing operations.
The clearing team demolished the barangay hall in Damayang Lagi that was seen encroaching on a piece of the sidewalk.
The clearing operations will then head to Balintawak, QC to continue the demolition of structures that obstruct the roads and sidewalks. /jpv
