Suspect in death of Chinese man in Las Piñas identified
MANILA, Philippines — Police have identified the suspect in the death of a Chinese man who fell from a six-story building in Las Piñas City.
Col. Simnar Gran, chief of the Las Piñas City Police Station, told INQUIRER.net that the suspect, Li Yun Xiang was tagged in the death of 27-year-old Yang Kang, who was handcuffed and fell to his death on Aug. 9.
According to Gran, CCTV footage helped police identify Xiang, supervisor of Kang in the call center where they reportedly worked.
They found compared the CCTV image with the photo on the suspect’s passport, Gran said in a phone interview.
Gran said investigators were coordinating with the Bureau of Immigration to determine whether the suspect is an illegal alien.
