‘Drug peddler’ killed after exchanging gunfire with Ecija cops
SAN ANTONIO, Nueva Ecija – A suspected drug peddler was killed while his companion managed to escape while exchanging gunfire with anti-narcotics operatives here on Sunday evening.
Police identified the fatality as Romeo Ginete, a resident of Barangay San Francisco here.
Investigators said Ginete and his unidentified companion opened fired at the responding policemen when they sensed that they were transacting with a police undercover agent at about 10:50 p.m.
Recovered from Ginete were a P500 marked money, a sachet of alleged “shabu” (crystal meth)and a .38-caliber revolver.
