MANILA, Philippines — Several domestic and international flights were canceled on Friday, August 9, due to bad weather brought about by Typhoon “Hanna.”
In an advisory, the Manila International Airport Authority (Miaa) announced that the following flights are canceled as of 3 p.m., Friday:

In its latest severe weather bulletin, the weather bureau said Typhoon “Hanna” (international name: Lekima) has slightly weakened and has exited the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR).
“Hanna” exited the country at 12:30 a.m., the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said.
“Hanna” now packs maximum sustained winds of 175 kilometers per hour (kph) near the center and gusts of up to 215 kph.
It was spotted 645 kilometers (km) north northeast of Basco, Batanes at 4:00 a.m., moving north northwest at 20 kph.
Pagasa said moderate to heavy monsoon rain is expected over the Ilocos Region, Cordillera Administrative Region, Batanes, the Babuyan Group of Islands, Zambales, Bataan, Occidental Mindoro and northern portions of Palawan (including Calamian Islands).
Meanwhile, light to moderate with intermittent heavy monsoon rains will prevail over Metro Manila, Western Visayas, and the rest of CALABARZON (Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal and Quezon), Central Luzon, and MIMAROPA (Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon and Palawan).
Gusty conditions is expected continue over most of Luzon and Visayas due to the enhanced southwest monsoon, Pagasa said. /muf / jpv
