Informal settlers’ community in Davao City razed by fire

DAVAO CITY—A fire swept through a community of informal settlers here on Saturday, destroying at least 29 homes.

The Bureau of Fire Protection said the fire at the village of 8A was reported around 2 p.m.

The fire, according to.a report of investigators, had started at the house of a certain Ricky Limbadan and believed to have been sparked by an overheated, imported used TV set.

Senior Fire Officer 3 Rami Gillado said the blaze was put out around 4:06 p.m.
