‘Operation Tulong’ launched for Sendong victims in CDO

SM City Cebu and SM Foundation Inc. will launch Operation Tulong for the typhoon and flood victims in Cagayan de Oro today, Dec. 21.

The booth located at the lower ground floor of the main mall in SM City Cebu (between Air Philippines and Country Crafts) will accept donations in kind.

Shoppers may donate used clothing, canned goods, blankets, shoes, bags, kitchen utensils, medicines, bottled water and other items needed by the affected families.

Over the weekend, Sendong swept through Southern Philippines bringing heavy rains that resulted to flash floods.

As of yesterday, the death toll was estimated to exceed 1,000, including those missing.

Donations from SM City Cebu will be directly sent to Cagayan de Oro. SM trucks and vans are used to bring the goods to the distribution areas manned by the staff and volunteers of SM Foundation.

Operation Tulong will run until Dec. 28.
