Airport terminal fee for students waived
MANILA, Philippines – Students are exempted from the airport terminal fee starting Thursday, August 1, 2019, the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) said.
In a memorandum released to the media on Thursday, the CAAP waived the terminal fee for pre-school to college students, including those in trade, arts, technical vocational schools and training centers.
Students who intend to avail the exemption must apply for a student exemption certificate at Malasakit Help Desks located in airports.
An application form must be filled out and submitted together with a photocopy of a valid school ID and /or school registration/ enrolment form.
Those with flights starting August 1, 2019 and previously purchased tickets within one year may seek for a refund of the terminal fee.
Students may get their refunds at the Malasakit Help Desks, which will serve as refund counters until the airlines are able to facilitate / integrate the exemption ruling in their booking systems. /gsg
