MANILA, Philippines — Plagued by allegations of bribery and corruption, the Land Transportation Office (LTO) and the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) have ordered a lifestyle check on its officials in line with President Rodrigo Duterte’s anticorruption drive.
LTFRB Chair Martin Delgra III also ordered the reshuffling of all cashiers and the relief of all security guards in the board’s central office following the arrest of a “fixer” within its premises last week.
Submit SALNs
A certain Rose Lawerda was arrested for supposedly selling slots for provisional authority to transport network vehicle services (TNVS) drivers.
Delgra also ordered the board’s regional directors to submit their statements of assets, liabilities and net worth (SALNs) within three days.
In a letter to its entire staff, LTO Assistant Secretary Edgar Galvante also ordered on Tuesday the administrative and finance divisions of both the central office in Manila and its regional counterparts to submit their SALNs and income tax returns by Aug. 16.
