PNRC appeals for more donations for ‘Sendong’ victims
MANILA, Philippines – The Philippine National Red Cross appealed for more donations for the victims of Tropical Storm “Sendong”.
Gwendolyn Pang, secretary-general of the PRC, said that much as the thousands of families displaced from their homes needed food and water, they also required portalets, cleaning materials, kitchenware, and eating utensils at the evacuation centers.
Pang added that the survivors also needed medicines to treat tetanus, cough, cold, infections, diarrhea, and skin problems.
As of Tuesday, the PRC has recorded 713 dead, 340 injured, and 563 missing.
The National Disaster Risk Reduction Management Committee has a higher death toll at 957 with those injured at 1582.
