MANILA, Philippines — The Philippine National Police – Anti-Kidnapping Group (PNP-AKG) arrested an Indian national who is a suspected member of a notorious kidnap-for-ransom group.
Police identified the suspect as Mandeep Singh, alias “Commando.” The 36-year-old Singh is said to be a member of the “Goldy Group” which was tagged in the kidnapping of Anial Kumar Sohal in 2017.
Police served the arrest warrant for kidnapping-for-ransom and serious illegal detention issued by Honorable Judge Ken Romaquin of Regional Trial Court Branch 24, Biñan City in Laguna against Singh.
PNP-AKG launched a manhunt operation and apprehended Singh in Barangay Caningay, Candoni in Negros Occidental on July 21.
