Metro Manila, nearby provinces to have thunderstorms on Wednesday afternoon – Pagasa
MANILA, Philippines – Moderate to heavy rain is expected in Metro Manila and in the nearby provinces of Laguna, Batangas and Quezon on Wednesday afternoon, the state weather agency said.
In its thunderstorm advisory released at 1:12 p.m., the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said moderate to heavy rain with lightning and strong winds are to be expected in the affected areas.
In a separate notice, Pagasa added that the same conditions will be experienced in the towns of San Andres, Virac, and Gigmoto in Catanduanes province, Masbate City and Mobo in Masbate province.
“All are advised to take precautionary measures against the impacts associated with these hazards which include flash floods and landslides. Keep monitoring for updates,” Pagasa said.
Pagasa in its earlier weather outlook said several parts of the country may expect rain and thunderstorms due to the trough of a low pressure area (LPA) spotted 595 kilometers northeast of Borongan City, Eastern Samar. /muf
