Jeepney driver shot dead on Edsa

MANILA, Philippines — A jeepney driver was shot dead Tuesday night at the corner of Epifanio de los Santos Avenue (Edsa) and North Avenue in Quezon City.
The police identified the driver as Roel Malagiño, vice president of the Stop and Go Coalition of the Muñoz Monumento Chapter.
The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) said the incident happened at 8:58 p.m. on the northbound lane of EDSA near SM North Edsa.
Malagiño was declared dead-on-the-spot.
The unidentified assailant is still at-large.
The incident occupied two lanes, which resulted in traffic build-up.
