MANILA, Philippines — Neophyte Senator Imee Marcos wants to become chairman of the Senate committee on youth in the 18th Congress, Senate President Vicente Sotto III bared on Saturday.

“Ngayon, gusto rin niya [Marcos] yung committee on youth. Yung electoral reforms sa kanya. Kaya lang yung tatlong committee papagusapan namin,” Sotto told DWIZ in an interview when asked if Marcos will chair the Senate committee on electoral reforms.

Senator Joel Villanueva is the chairman of the Senate committee on youth in the 17th Congress.

Sotto added that 99.5 percent of committee chairmanships had already been appointed, noting that he will coordinate with Marcos to complete the assigned chairmanships.

“‘Yun yung point 5, kasi sa ngayon ang major committee i-eelect si Senator Imee Marcos e yung committtee on economic affairs. Mabigat na committee yun, hindi madali,” Sotto said.  /muf
