3 alleged robbery gang members die in shootout with QC cops
MANILA, Philippines — Three suspected members of a robbery hold-up gang were killed after they shot it out with police officers in Barangay Santo Domingo, Quezon City early Saturday morning.
The Quezon City Police District said the killed suspects were only identified as alias Jeffrey, alias Nono and alias Bert, who are suspected members of the Hermosa Robbery Group.
Prior to the encounter, the policemen were conducting anti-criminality operation and surveillance against the suspects at Biak na Bato Street at around 12:45 a.m.
Law enforcers then spotted the suspects near a parked motorcycle and engaged them in a brief gunfight, leading to the death of the three.
The fourth suspect, identified as a certain Nonoy Hermosa, however, managed to escape using another motorcycle.
Recovered were three cal. 45 pistols, two pieces of magazine, one orange Honda Beat motorcycle, and one sachet of suspected shabu.
Police follow-up operation is now being conducted to arrest Hermosa. /jpv
