British national drowns in Albay resort

LEGAZPI CITY — A British national drowned on Thursday afternoon in a beach resort in Oas town in Albay province, a police report said Friday.

Major Maria Luisa Calubaquib, Bicol police spokesperson, said David Andrew Smith Wilnot, 57, from East Bourne in England, drowned while swimming at a beach resort in Barangay Maramba around 5:30 p.m.

Wilnot died while being taken to the Pantao Hospital in Libon town.
