Rape in talisay

An 18-year-old woman was raped at home allegedly by her father in barangay Lawaan III, Talisay City.

The victim, a single mother, reported the abuse to the Talisay City police after the incident last Sunday.

She said it was the first time her 46-year-old father, who was intoxicated, attacked her.

The father was immediately arrested and detained at the Talisay police precinct pending the filing of charges. correspondentgabriel bonjoc

Danao shooting

A 29-year old habal-habal (motorcycle-for-hire) driver was shot by his neighbor yesterday morning in barangay lower Binaliw, Danao City, soth Cebu.

Police said Discoro Labador was sitting on his d motorcycle parked by the roadside when two men on board a motorcycle passed by.

The backrider, Edito Mangat, then shot the victim.

Labador was hit in the abdomen. He was brought to the Danao District Hospital and later transferred to a Cebu City hospital.
