Construction site accident kills worker in Manila

MANILA, Philippines – Tragedy struck a construction site in Sampaloc, Manila Sunday morning when a tower crane’s cable that was hoisting a cement-filled bucket snapped and crushed a construction worker to death.

The Manila Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO) said that the incident took place at around 9 a.m. at Dos Castillas cor P. Margal Streets in Sampaloc.

The ill-fated construction worker has yet to be identified by authorities.
