MANILA, Philippines – A building on Tomas Morato Avenue corner Roces Avenue in Barangay Sacred Heart, Quezon City was targetted on Friday morning by a prankster who said a bomb was planted at the establishment.

According to Quezon City Police District (QCPD), Boots Policarpio, 49, tenant of the building, reported that the bomb threat was relayed to her by a certain Rocky Lubrico, who also lives in the said building at 10 a.m.

Upon receiving information, Cpl. Noel Aliangan, PSSg Remie Villareal and other responding officers inspected the area and found no explosive.

Lubrico told police that the phone call came from an unidentified man.

He also revealed that the unidentified man was extorting money from him. He said the caller has threatened to link him to the explosion in front of a restaurant in Quezon City.

Lubrico was referring to the blast at the Chung Mi Rae Korean Restaurant along Scout Tuazon Street corner Timog Avenue in Barangay South Triangle on Thursday. An MK2 fragmentation hand grenade was used in the incident.
