Poe demands justice over death of Kidapawan radioman: ‘This cycle has to stop’
MANILA, Philippines — Senator Grace Poe on Thursday called for justice for the radio broadcaster who was gunned down in Kidapawan City, saying the cycle of killers escaping from the law should stop.
Poe, who currently heads the Senate committee on public information and mass media, said the assailants behind the death of Eduardo “Kabrigada Ed” Dizon should be jailed.
“We deplore the killing of Kidapawan radio commentator Eduardo Dizon and demand swift action from law enforcers to bring his perpetrators to jail,” Poe said in a statement.
“Nakikiramay din tayo sa pamilya at mahal sa buhay ni Eduardo, at nananawagan tayo sa kinauukulang mga ahensya ng gobyerno ng karampatang tulong,” the senator added.
The senator asked the Philippine National Police (PNP) to report to the public the progress of its investigation on deaths of journalists.

“We call on the PNP to make a report to the public on the progress of its investigation on the deaths of journalists,” Poe said.
“We have to know how the cases are moving and what support the families of the victims need in pursuing justice. Every killer who eludes justice can embolden the next. The cycle has to stop,” the senator added.
