MANILA, Philippines — Barely a week holding office at the Manila City Hall, Mayor Isko Moreno has managed to keep illegal vendors out of Plaza Miranda in Quiapo.
Devotees of the Black Nazarene can now properly see its image at the center of Quiapo Church without vendors selling replicas and rosaries blocking their view.
Moreno earlier revealed that he was offered P5 million a day to P1.8 billion a year to drop his promise to get vendors out of the main roads of the national capital.
