MANILA, Philippines — San Juan City Mayor Francis Zamora revealed Monday that the San Juan Medical Center has a medical equipment worth P90 million that is still unused.

We do not know if the equipment is working or if our citizens who are sick can use it),” he added.

Zamora said that based on documents turned over to him by the previous administration, the local government paid nearly P90 million to the supplier of the medical equipment.

So we need to ensure that this equipment is used),” he added.

The new mayor, who ended the 50-year grip of the Estrada clan in the city, revealed this as he reported the city’s financial situation on Monday, a week after he assumed office.

“Bawat sentimo ng pondo ay gagamitin natin ng wasto para sa kapakanan ng bawat San Juaneño (Every centavo from government funds will be used for the good of every San Juan resident),” Zamora said.

“Ginagawa po natin ito bilang bahagi ng ating pangako na tayo’y magkakaroon ng isa ng tapat at malinis na pamahalaang lungsod (We are doing this as part of our promise of a clean and honest government),” he added. (Editor: Eden Estopace)
