Grade 7 student shot by ‘boyfriend’ in Laguna dies

MANILA, Philippines — The Grade 7 student allegedly shot on Thursday by his reported boyfriend died while being treated at a hospital, the Laguna Police said.

The 15-year-old male victim was earlier declared “brain dead” after allegedly being shot by Renan Estrope Valderama alias Renz Ivan Valderama at Castor Alviar National High School in Barangay Masili, Calamba City at around 12:30 p.m.

He was rushed to HealthServ Medical Center but died at around 4:09 p.m., according to a police report.
Initial investigation showed the suspect, aged around 30 to 35, and the victim reportedly had a romantic relationship and are living together.
Manhunt operation is ongoing to locate and arrest the suspect.
