De Oro mayor expresses ‘deep regret’ over son’s arrest for drugs
Cagayan de Oro City Mayor Oscar Moreno on Wednesday (July 3) expressed “deep regret” after his 43-year-old son was arrested in a drug buy-bust operation in Angeles City on Saturday.
Moreno’s son, Sean, has been arrested along with seven drug suspects for allegedly selling party drugs and Valium, a prescription downer, worth P1 million.
“Even if he has gone astray, Sean is still my son, whom I took very special care since his birth,” Moreno said in a statement.
“I deeply regret the situation that Sean is in now. I will endlessly continue to struggle thinking about what led him to this.” he added.
The mayor said the family continued to support Sean as he hoped his son would still have “a bright tomorrow” despite the “difficult situation.”
“In spite of the pain, I remain undeterred in believing that God will show Sean the way. And we will unqualifiedly support him,” he added.
