53 'erring' cops complete internal cleansing program in Subic

SUBIC BAY FREEPORT, Philippines — Fifty-three policemen completed a 30-day reformation program at the School for Values and Leadership Satellite Office of the Philippine National Police (PNP) Training Service here on Wednesday.

The program called “Focused Reformation and Reorientation and Moral Enhancement for Police Officers in Line with Internal Cleansing Efforts” is a month-long training program that aims to address the problem with wayward policemen.

PNP chief Gen. Oscar Albayalde, who was the guest of honor and speaker during the program’s closing ceremony, said the PNP still struggles with genuine transformation.

He said the training focuses on changing the attitudes and perceptions of policemen and instill in them professionalism and integrity to bring them back to their oath of service, honor, and justice.

“Erring cops continue to bring trouble to the organization, and the PNP image continues to suffer,” Albayalde said.

“I now expect to see members of class 2019-01 who have undergone the 30-day program to go back to your respective assignments renewed and reformed,” he added.
