Moreno names ex-DSWD Usec as new PLM president
MANILA, Philippines — Former Social Welfare Undersecretary Emmanuel Leyco has been named new president of the government-funded school Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila (PLM).
He will be replacing Lenny de Jesus, who assumed the PLM leadership in September 2014. De Jesus was appointed by former Manila Mayor Joseph Estrada.
In an advisory on Wednesday, Manila Mayor Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso also said that the appointment of Leyco as member of the Board of Regents would be until 2025.
“As member of the Board of Regents, you are therefore authorized to discharge the duties and responsibilities of the said position,” Leyco’s appointment letter read.
“The appointment is without compensation other than the allowance for attendance at the meetings of the Board of Regents or on other official business as maybe authorized by resolution of the Board,” it added.
