With donuts as ‘peace offering,’ man breaks into sheriff’s office

A man who broke into a sheriff’s office with a “peace offering” for the police was arrested in Washington, United States, rendering his gift useless.

The unnamed 26-year-old forced his entry into the office by shattering one of the windows around midnight sometime last week, as per King County Sheriff’s Office on Facebook last Friday, June 28.

Upon the arrival of an officer at the scene, the man was found sitting at one of the officers’ desks with his feet up on a chair, watching TV and had just finished smoking a cigar.

When asked if he was responsible for the broken window, he said, “yep.” The man also explained that he would rather go to jail for breaking and entering rather than “kill his roommate.”

He revealed that he brought a fresh box of donuts as a “peace offering” for the police, anticipating that they would be mad at him for breaking in the office.

Despite his sweet offering, the man was detained in the King County Jail.

“No word on the fate of the donuts,” the sheriff’s office stated. JB
