Town administrator killed in San Mateo, Isabela

SAN MATEO, Isabela — This town’s 59-year-old administrator was shot dead by two motorcycle-riding gunmen along the national road in Dagupan village on Monday night (July 1), police said.

Napoleon Hernandez, a former Isabela board member, was driving his home with his wife when the motorcycle riders shot him through the vehicle’s left window at 7:20 p.m., according to Police Captain Frances Littaua, Isabela police spokesperson.

Hernandez was hit in the chest. His wife, Pia, was unhurt.

Hernandez had just completed his first day at work after attending the inauguration of San Mateo Mayor Gregorio Pua.

Police had set up checkpoints all , but they failed to arrest the killers. (Editor: Eden Estopace)
