Shabu worth P6.5M seized in Lanao Norte town drug bust

BALO-I, LANAO DEL NORTE –– The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) here recovered almost a kilo of suspected shabu (crystal meth) estimated to be worth P6.5 million in a buy-bust operation at past 3 p.m. Thursday, June 27, in Barangay West Poblacion here.

Benjamin Recites, chief of PDEA Region 10 plans and operations division, said they also arrested a suspect, Jalil Akil Linog, allegedly caught transacting the illegal substance in the area.

Recites said Linog, 30, a driver of a public utility vehicle, had been subjected to police monitoring for almost a month allegedly for drugs.

Linog had admitted getting his supplies from Maguing town in Lanao del Sur.

Aside from the one kilo of suspected shabu, police also confiscated from him a cellular phone, one 125 Honda XRM motorcycle and two pieces of P1,000 bills on top of the 13 bundles of buy-bust money. (Editor: Leti Z. Boniol)
