Joyce Bernal returns to direct Sona 2019 — RTVM exec
MANILA, Philippines — Romantic comedy director Joyce Bernal will be back to direct the 2019 State of the Nation Address (Sona), a Radio Television Malacañang (RTVM) official said.
According to Jun Lubid, RTVM’s team leader for the Sona who was at the meeting in the House of Representatives on Wednesday, Bernal will start rehearsals by July 13.
“Binibining Joyce Bernal would be directing this year’s Sona […] on July 13 magkakaroon ng mga rehearsals with Joyce Bernal,” Lubid said.
Bernal directed the 2018 Sona where the program was delayed for more than an hour, following a row between then Speaker Pantaleon Alvarez and eventual Speaker Gloria Macapagal Arroyo. (Editor: Mike U. Frialde)
