‘Dodong’ exiting PAR, monsoon rains to persist
MANILA, Philippines – Tropical depression Dodong is expected to exit the Philippine area of responsibility (PAR) by Wednesday afternoon or evening, the state weather bureau said.
Monsoon rains will persist even after “Dodong’s” exit, Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) weather specialist Ezra Bulquerin said.
“Kahit nasa labas na ito ng Philippine area of responsibility, asahan pa rin natin ang monsoon rains dala ng hanging habagat kaya tomorrow makakaranas pa rin tayo ng light to moderate and at times heavy na mga pag-ulan,” Bulquerin said in a Facebook live update.
“Dodong” was last spotted 700 kilometers east of Calayan, Cagayan, packing maximum sustained winds of 45 kilometers per hour and gusts of up to 60 kph.
It was moving northeast at 10 kph.
Metro Manila, Ilocos region, Calabarzon, Central Luzon, Mimaropa, Bicol region and Western Visayas will have cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms.
