Man returning to work at quarry killed after buying food

TAGBILARAN CITY, Bohol—A man returning to work after buying food was shot dead in the town of Corella on Monday (June 24), according to police.

Cpl. Christopher Ramirez, of the Corella police, said Elmer Matias, 30, was driving his motorcycle back from the town of Sikatuna where he bought food.

Matias was shot in the head as he neared the quarry site where he worked, according to Ramirez.

Police can’t say yet what the motive was and are still investigating. (Editor: Tony Bergonia)
