June 23 to 24: Regada Festival

The city of Cavite in Cavite province pays homage to St. John the Baptist in a series of activities in the water-themed festival.

The festival’s name came from the Spanish word “regar,” which means to water.

There will be water-themed games, street dancing competition, coastal cleanup and water splashing.

June 24: Water Festival

Another water-themed thanksgiving event in Dinalupihan town, Bataan province, in honor of its patron St. John the Baptist.

Activities include a street dancing event called “kuraldal,” civic-military parade and traditional dousing of water to the people.

June 27: Pintados-Kasadyaan Festival

One of the much-awaited festivals in Tacloban City, Leyte province, in honor of its patron saint, Señor Sto. Niño. It is a combination of two festivals—Pintados and Kasadyaan.

The Pintados Festival was first celebrated in 1987 to showcase the early tattooed inhabitants of Leyte and Samar province called “pintados,” while Kasadyaan celebrates the diverse and vibrant culture of Leyte.
