Occidental Mindoro student nabbed after trying to sell pistol in junk shop

CALAPAN CITY, Philippines —  A student was arrested by police after she tried to sell a gun to a junkshop in Magsaysay, Occidental Mindoro on Thursday afternoon.

Lt. Col. Socrates Faltado, Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon, Palawan police information officer, said the 16-year-old student, was nabbed after police received information of a person trying to sell a gun at the junkshop at about 5:20 p.m. in Barangay (village) Poblacion.

Police officers later located the student at the town plaza and was positively identified by the informant.

When police officers inspected the student’s backpack, they found the unlicensed and loaded  .45 caliber pistol.
