GEN. NATIVIDAD, Nueva Ecija –– A suspected drug peddler was killed inside a public cemetery here after a shootout with policemen in a buy-bust operation on Thursday.

Police Capt. Ronnie Caagbay, the town’s police chief, identified the suspect as Ronald Grevialde, a resident of Barangay Platero here.

Caagbay said the suspect had asked his supposed customer, who was a police undercover agent, to meet at the cemetery at 1:40 a.m.

When the suspect sensed he was dealing with a policeman, he fired shots that prompted responding cops to shoot back.

Caagbay said Grevialde died on the spot while his companion escaped on board a motorcycle.

Grevialde was included in the local police’s list of most wanted personalities for being allegedly involved in a series of robbery. Armand Galang
