Suspected drug pusher dead in Laguna

SAN PEDRO CITY –– A suspected illegal drug pusher was killed in a buy-bust operation in Calamba City in Laguna province on Thursday.

Laguna police director Col. Eleazar Matta, in a text message, identified the suspect as Marco Magnaye, a resident of Barangay Pansol.

Matta said the police conducted the buy-bust around 1:45 a.m. in Barangay Bucal when Magnaye suddenly opened fire. A back-up team of policemen returned fire and hit the suspect, who died on the way to the Jose P. Rizal hospital.

The police said they recovered about 25 grams of suspected shabu (crystal meth) worth P100,000 from the scene. Maricar Cinco (Editor: Leti Boniol)
