Heavy rain showers expected over NCR, parts of Luzon Tuesday afternoon

MANILA, Philippines — Heavy rain showers could hit Metro Manila and other provinces in Luzon on Tuesday afternoon, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said.

In a thunderstorm advisory released 1:26 p.m., Pagasa said moderate to heavy rains with lightning and strong winds are expected over Metro Manila, Zambales, Bulacan, and Laguna over the next two hours.

Pagasa said the same weather conditions are being experienced over parts of Batangas and Cavite, which may prevail within two hours and may also affect nearby areas.

“All are advised to take precautionary measures against the impacts associated with these hazards which include flash floods and landslides,” the weather bureau said.

In its forecast on Tuesday morning, Pagasa said Metro Manila and the rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers caused by localized thunderstorms.

Meanwhile, Mindanao and Palawan are expected to experience cloudy skies with isolated rain showers and thunderstorms due to an Intertropical Convergence Zone and southwest monsoon, respectively. (Editor: Eden Estopace)
