A 17-year-old boy credited God for saving his life after he slipped from a rock and tumbled 50 feet down off a cliff.
The incident happened when Ben Foster was hiking on the Frenchman’s Bluff Trail with friends last Sunday, June 9, as per CSB-affiliate KMOV on June 10.

A tree branch saved him from falling any further. “I just flung my left arm out and grabbed onto it somehow, and just held on,” Foster was quoted as saying. “I felt God grab on to me and pull on me tight.”
Firefighters from the Lincoln County Fire and Winfield-Foley Fire were able to rescue the boy after setting up a series of ropes that allowed them to reach him.
He was then placed on a rescue boat and taken to a nearby hospital to nurse his injuries. Foster suffered a broken clavicle and some minor cuts and bruises.
Foster credits the crucifix necklace he was wearing and the firefighters for saving his life.
His mother Maria Branon said there were no signs near the cliff that warned hikers of potential dangers. She hopes to see a warning posted at the cliff before someone else is injured. Ryan Arcadio/JB
