A department for OFW was among Go’s campaign promises, who ranked 3rd in the recently concluded midterm elections.

The proposed department, according to Go, will serve as a one-stop-shop that will provide legal assistance to OFWs in distress; arrange a full migration cycle approach in promoting migrants’ rights from pre-employment to onsite and reintegration services; and launch a shared database system to help track the status of OFWs to fast-track the delivery of assistance.  (Editor: Mike U.
