Love triangle eyed in Marikina shooting incident

MANILA, Philippines — A meet-up between a man and his live-in partner turned into a shooting incident,  possibly due to a love triangle, leaving the man injured.

According to the Marikina City Police Station, the injured man, Allan Galang, 28, was supposed to meet with live-in partner Katherine Desiderrio at a friend’s house in Marikina Heights on Tuesday night.

However, Desiderrio arrived at the house with four unidentified men and the suspect, identified as Michael Dumlao.

Dumlao and Galang had a brief altercation, and then the four men mauled Galang.

Dumlao then fired a gun at the Galang’s right thigh and escaped with Desiderrio on a motorcycle, while four other suspects fled the scene using a Honda Sedan.

Galang was taken to the Amang Rodriguez Memorial Medical Center for treatment of a fracture and a gunshot wound.

The Marikina Scene of the Crime Operatives team, led by 2nd Lt. Roy Guevarra recovered a spent cartridge case from the scene.

Meanwhile, police launched a follow-up operation to hunt down the assailants.
