MANILA, Philippines – Vice President Leni Robredo led the commemoration of the 121st Independence Day at the Rizal Park in Manila Wednesday morning.

After the flag raising ceremony, Robredo laid a wreath at the monument of national hero Dr. Jose Rizal.

Likewise present were Manila Mayor Joseph Estrada and other ranking government officials.

Authorities said an estimated 2,000 individuals from various organizations, such as the Knights of Rizal, Boy and Girl Scouts of the Philippines and student groups also attended the ceremony.  (Editor: Gilbert S. Gaviola)
