MANILA, Philippines — The National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP) has placed the Luzon grid on yellow alert for Tuesday, June 11.
In an advisory, the NGCP said the yellow alert on the Luzon grid will be in effect from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
According to the DOE, a yellow alert is usually raised when a grid’s power reserve — the difference between supply and demand — is below the required level.
However, a yellow alert will not lead to power outages, the DOE added.
NGCP added that the grid’s available capacity is at 11,839 megawatts and its peak demand is at 10,921 megawatts.
“Details on the cause to be announced by the Department of Energy (DOE) later in the day,” the NGCP advisory added: (Editor: Mike U. Frialde)
