1 dead, 2 nabbed in Subic buy-bust
SUBIC, Zambales, Philippines — A drug suspect was killed and two others were arrested in a buy-bust operation here on Sunday, police said.
Maj. Jude Bryan Maguddayo, chief of the Subic Municipal Police Station, said Ommay Jalmaani was killed after engaging police officers in a gunfight in Barangay Calapacuan at about 5 a.m.
Investigators said the encounter took place when anti-narcotics operatives tried to arrest a certain Julnari Nali alias “Borutsoy” who went inside Jalmaani’s house.
Two other drug suspects, identified as Kaisar Jakaria and Eli Balani, were arrested when they attempted to block the operating team from entering Jalmaani’s house.
Police said Nali managed to escape.
Investigators recovered a .38-caliber revolver and two sachets containing suspected crystal meth, locally known as “shabu,” from Jalmaani’s house.
